Do you fancy having ago at something you may not have tried before? On Saturday 16th June from 10.00 a.m. to about 2.30 p.m. we are holding a Dabble Day in the Church Hall. There will be 4 guided activities to choose from - Flower arranging (make an arrangement in a tea cup or beaker): Weaving (make a small picture with various wools); Stitched cards ( create a card with the embroidery on paper method); Artificial flowers (make carnations and roses from paper). No experience is needed; you will be guided every step of the way and will (hopefully!) have something to take home to treasure. You will be able to choose 2 of the activities but places at each session will be limited to 6 people, so we can only accommodate 24 people at one go. You will be asked to number the activities in your order of preference and will be given your first 2 choices if at all possible, but we may have to go to the 3rd or 4th choice if places are full. The cost of the day is £7.50 to include tea/coffee on arrival, lunch and the 2 activities. Booking is essential and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis - so get in early!
If you would prefer to attend just one session and do one activity, that is fine. The cost for each element - activities and lunch - is £2.50, so you just pay for what you attend.
Our retired priest, the Revd. Richard Bailey, with the Sacristan, Patrick Preston, prepare to celebrate on Easter Day.
Festival of Crosses
During Passiontide and Holy Week we held a Festival of Crosses at St. Saviour's to examine what meaning the cross has for people. We were overwhelmed by the number and variety of crosses which appeared. A selection is below.
