St. Saviour's Church has been awarded a Heritage Lottery Fund Grant.

 

The work which needed to be completed

Although our church is relatively modern, the building is still subject to wear and tear and the last Quinquennial inspection identified a number of areas in need of urgent attention:-

 The roofs need to be recovered to prevent the ingress of water

Staining to the internal ceiling

Insulation will be inserted to help reduce heat loss

External Pointing needs to be repaired:

Some external pointing is needed

 

Gutters and fall pipes need overhauling and decorating:

New heaters are needed in church and some repair is needed to the timberwork

New roof lights are needed

The rooflights need to be replaced

 

 

We need repairs to defective concrete parapets, lintels and window surrounds

Repair and overhaul to leaded windows and replacement of current polycarbonate window protection with UV stabilised polycarbonate is required.

Not all of these problems can be addressed at present, but we are extremely grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund for making available sufficient funds to enable us to make a significant start on them.
